The beautiful valley of Swat, the realm of beauty and serenity, is situated in the Hindu Kush mountain range and has been the abode of several ancient cultures. Also popularly known as “the Switzerland of the East”, Swat Valley is holidaymakers’ delight and a hallmark of magnificent scenic beauty and rich historical past. You will find from historical buildings to the best of nature in Swat Valley. Apart from its many rivers, waterfalls, meandering streams, mesmerizing lakes, forests, flower filled meadows, fascinating landscapes, fruit laden orchards, lush green fields and snow-capped mountains, Swat Valley is reputed for the hospitality of its people.

Passing the towns of Mardan, Malakand and Batkhela, we will reach Mingora, where we will visit the famous White Palace. The marble used to build White Palace was the same used to build Taj Mahal. Next day, we will make our way towards Kalam, passing through Madyan (a popular hill station) and Bahrain (a popular riverside resort). The nature around Kalam is extremely fascinating, where we will visit the majestic Ushu pine forest and exquisite emerald green Mahodand Lake. We will pleasure ourselves with the views of several majestic streams and waterfalls throughout the Swat Valley. On the way back, we will visit the famous ski resort of Malam Jabba as well as Takht-i-Bhai, the Buddist Monastery which dates back to early 1st century AD.

Swat, without doubt, is among one of the most beautiful tourist destinations not only in Pakistan, but in the entire world!

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive at Islamabad

  • Arrival at Islamabad.
  • You will be received by the group leader and/or guide.
  • Transfer to centrally located hotel.
  • Tour briefing with group leader at the hotel.
  • Sightseeing of Islamabad in the evening.
  • Enjoy an outstanding dinner at Monal Restaurant, which is situated in Margalla Hills and offers spectacular views of the city.
  • Overnight stay at centrally located hotel.

Day 2 – Drive to Mingora (Pakistani Tourists will join on this Day)

  • Leave early in the morning on private air-conditioned coach (or van) for Mingora (Swat Valley) via Malakand, Mardan, Batkhela. All these cities are located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), which will give you a sneak peak into the culture of KPK.
  • On arrival at Mingora, we will visit the famous White Palace located at the foot of Mount Elum (2,800m). The first ruler of modern Swat state originally built it as a royal summerhouse. The marble used to build White Palace was the same used to build Taj Mahal. The palace has now been converted into a hotel where we will royally enjoy tea and snacks with a surreal view.
  • We will then visit Islampur village, which is home to the famous handmade Pashmina shawls and other handicrafts. These shawls are well-known throughout the world.
  • Overnight stay at hotel in Mingora.

Day 3 – Drive to Kalam

  • We will leave in the morning for Kalam.
  • We will enjoy several streams and waterfalls all the way to Kalam. Swat Valley is renowned for its majestic streams and waterfalls.
  • On our way to Kalam, we will visit Madyan (a popular hill station) and Bahrain (a popular riverside resort). The bazaars of these towns are worth exploring for their handicrafts e.g. jewelry, wooden hats (traditional to locals), etc.
  • Upon reaching Kalam, we will have evening to explore the town and visit local bazaars (markets).
  • Overnight stay at hotel in Kalam.

Day 4– Jeep Drive to Ushu Forest and Mahodand Lake

  • Early in the morning, we will go on a 4×4 jeep safari to visit the majestic Ushu pine forest and exquisite emerald green Mahodand Lake. If the day is clear by the time we reach Mahodand Lake, we will see the beautiful water fall covered in thin mist of water vapors over which a little rainbow of colors will appear.
  • We will enjoy boat and horse-back rides at the lake. We can also take a 10 minutes stroll above Mahodand Lake to Lake Saifullah, another marvelous but smaller lake.
  • We will have the evening free. It’s time taken out for you to do anything that you have been wanting to explore in the city! Your guide and/or team leader will be more than happy to help you out and accompany you.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Kalam.
  • Meals: B,L,D

Day 5 – Drive to Malam Jabba and then Mingora

  • We will leave Kalam early in the morning for Malam Jabba.
  • Malam Jabba is a beautiful hill station in the Hindu Kush mountain range. Here we will see the oldest ski resort of Pakistan with facilities including roller/ice-skating rinks, skiing platforms, leap of faith slides, rope course, parrot boating, zip liner, magic carpet, jumping castle, Ferris wheel and many more attractions.
  • At the end of the day, we will head to Mingora.
  • Mingora is situated on the left bank of River Swat. The city offers some wonderful panoramic views of the Swat River and surrounding Hindu Kush mountains.
  • Overnight stay at hotel in Mingora.

Day 6 – Drive to Islamabad (Tour Ends for Pakistani Tourists on this Day)

  • Leave early morning for Islamabad via Takht-i-Bhai.
  • On our way back, we will stop at Takht-i-Bhai to visit the Buddist Monastery which dates back to early 1st century AD. It is listed in the World Heritage list and is considered as one of the most well-structured Buddhist monasteries in Gandhara region.
  • We will reach Islamabad by late evening.
  • Overnight stay at centrally located hotel.
  • Meals: B,L,D

Day 7 – Trip Concludes

  • After breakfast, your guide and/or group leader will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
